The new PlayStation 5 variant is now available in India and the deliveries happen in minutes
PlayStation 5 Slim is now available in the country and this time console fans can pick it up without stepping out of their house. But how?
The all-new PlayStation 5 Slim gaming console is now available for purchase in India. What makes the launch even more exciting is that the latest console from Sony can now be purchased and delivered to your doorstep within a jiffy. The Japanese gaming major partnered with Zomato-owned quick-commerce platform BlinkIt to ship these gaming devices to their owners.
Going by the company’s tagline, “orders delivered within 10 minutes”, it is likely that the PlayStation 5 deliveries will be lightning fast. However, there is no official statement from Blinkit stating that the new console will reach its customers within 10 minutes of purchase.
Originally exclusive only to the United States, the new PlayStation 5 Slim was released for sale on the Blinkit app from 10:00 am onwards today, April 5. Blinkit’s CEO Albinder Dhindsa sent out a post on X yesterday to announce that the consoles can be purchased directly throught the Blinkit mobile app. His post reads, “PlayStation 5 on Blinkit. Launching tomorrow.” Apart from this, the new console will also be available across multiple retailers in the country.
Sony’s new PlayStation 5 Slim has received a noticeable physical overhaul compared to the previous device. The new console now requires 30 per cent less space while also receiving a 25 per cent reduction in its weight. The product has also received a tweaking in its side places with the last version of the console featuring two and the latest one featuring four.
One of these plates has been designed to attach a detachable Blu-ray disk, depending on the user’s requirements. Another major difference between the two consoles is the port selection. The original PlayStation 5 had a USB-C and one USB-A port. Whereas, the new Slim variant houses two USB-C ports right in front of the case for better accessibility.
While improving the ergonomics of the previous device, Sony has managed to ensure that its new console packs 1TB of storage capacity which can be further expanded using external SSDs. They have not skimped on performance either with the new PlayStation 5 Slim housing the same custom 8-core AMD Zen 2 CPU along with a custom AMD RDNA 2 GPU.
As for the pricing, the new PlayStation 5 Slim can be purchased directly through BlinkIt for a price of Rs 44,990. If you are looking for a variant with a disc-drive then the new console will set you back Rs 54,990.
