OnePlus 12 launched in China, brings back wireless charging, official waterproofing and more – Times of India

Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus has expanded its product portfolio in its home turf with the launch of its latest flagship smartphone. The company has launched its 10th-anniversary flagship smartphone, OnePlus 12in China. The latest smartphone succeeds the OnePlus 11 which was launched in China in 2022 and arrived in India earlier this year. The company has included several improvements to the latest smartphone.To name a few, the OnePlus 12 brings backwireless charging and comes with a faster USB port as well as an upgraded camera system.
OnePlus 12: Price and availability in China
The latest smartphone will be available in China in several different RAM and storage variants. The base model that supports 12GB RAM and 256GB storage is priced at CNY 4,299 (nearly Rs 50,500). Apart from this the smartphone will be available in three other RAM and storage configurations — 16GB + 512GB, 16GB + 1TB and 24GB + 1TB — are priced at CNY 4,799 (almost Rs 56,400), CNY 5,299 (almost Rs 62,300) and CNY 5,799 (almost 68,200), respectively. The smartphone will be available in Rock Black, Pale Green, or White colour options. OnePlus 12 is already up for pre-order in China and will go on sale on December 11.
OnePlus 12: Key specs (China variant)
OnePlus 12 has retained the design language of its predecessor but the latest smartphone comes with a few minor changes. The new phone has a glass sandwich construction that comes with a metal frame in the middle and is IP65-rated for water and dust resistance.
The smartphone sports a 6.82-inch curved OLED display which is supplied by BOE. The centered punch-hole panel supports a resolution of 3168 x 1440 pixels (QHD+), 510 PPI, and 1-120Hz refresh rate (LTPO) variable refresh rates. The 10-bit screen offers up to 4500 nits of local peak brightness level and 2160Hz of PWM dimming.

OnePlus 12 is powered by Qualcomm’s latest flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and backed by LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. For thermal dissipation, the phone is also equipped with a 9140mm² VC (Vapor Chamber) cooling system which can cover an area of 38,547mm².
The smartphone has a camera setup which is similar to the company’s first-ever foldable smartphone OnePlus Open and the Oppo Find N3. OnePlus 12 houses a a 50MP Sony LYT-808 primary sensor with OIS, a 64MP OmniVision OV64B sensor with an OIS-assisted 3x periscope zoom lens, and a 48MP Sony IMX581 ultra-wide unit with autofocus. For selfies and video calls, the smartphone has a 32MP front shooter and all of these cameras are tuned with Hasselblad-tuned image processing.
For connectivity, OnePlus 12 has multiple options which include dual SIM support, 5G connectivity, WiFi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, GNSS, NFC and USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports. The smartphone also features an alert slider, an IR blaster, an x-axis linear vibration motor and a dual stereo speaker setup.
The smartphone runs ColorOS 14 based on Android 14 out-of-the-box and packs a 5,400mAh battery unit. OnePlus 12 also supports 100W wired, 50W wireless charging as well as 10W reverse wireless charging.
