The Public Service Commission exams aren’t the easiest of exams because of their comprehensive syllabus. Another factor which makes it tough is that a high number of aspirants compete for only a few vacancies. Today, let us take a look at the success story of a man named Om Prakash Sahu. He is a labourer, who managed to crack this exam with his exceptional academic brilliance.

According to reports, he passed the Chattisgarh Public Service Commission exam in 2022 and was appointed as Jail Superintendent. He hails from the Panwarjali village, Pandariya tehsil, Kabirdham district of Chhattisgarh. Om Prakash is the elder one of his six siblings, three brothers and three sisters. His parents have worked as labourers for a long time, but he decided to pursue a different path in life and started to prepare for the civil service exam. He managed to crack it with his unwavering dedication.

Om Prakash had told the media in an interview that he used to devote 6-8 hours for the exam’s preparation alongside his job. According to him, he didn’t refrain from using social media, instead utilising it constructively to prepare for his exams. Om Prakash had to face a lot of difficulties to crack the exam. He further added that the financial condition of his family was not strong and he had to work as a labourer to support his family. He couldn’t concentrate on his education due to this job. He had also procured a job card for working as a labourer, but his father had a different plan in mind.

According to Om Prakash, his father didn’t want him to continue as a labourer and instead sent his son to the city to pursue studies further.

Om Prakash started to pursue his education in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh and then headed to Delhi for further studies. He said that his father had to sell the farm to procure funds for his education. Om Prakash finished his studies with this money. He then attempted the Chhattisgarh PSC examinations in 2018, but unfortunately couldn’t succeed. He remained steadfast in his commitment to clearing the Chhattisgarh PCS exam and kept preparing for it. Om Prakash also took up a job alongside the exam preparation.
