Yet again, Mouni Roy enthralled her fans with an exquisite show of traditional clothing in honour of Vishu 2024, the Malayali New Year.

Mouni Roy has consistently woven elements of both Bengali and Malayali cultures into her ensembles. The actress has once again mesmerised her fans with a breathtaking display of traditional attire to celebrate Vishu 2024, the Malayali New Year. Her choice of attire was not merely a fashion statement but a tribute to her husband’s Malayali roots. This isn’t all! The day also coincided with the Bengali New Year, Poila Baisakh.

To celebrate both occasions, Mouni chose a traditional Kasavu saree adorned with intricate gold and beige borders, radiating elegance with every fold. She paired this exquisite saree with a matching blouse that added to the ensemble’s timeless charm. To accentuate her look, Mouni adorned herself with a stunning gold temple jewellry set and delicately placed flowers in her hair. In terms of glam quality, Mouni opted for a subtle look that enhanced her natural beauty. She opted for smokey eyeshadow, complete with thick eyeliner, mascara and defined brows. Her contoured cheeks and a hint of blush imparted a soft glow to her complexion, while nude lipstick maintained an understated elegance that complemented her ensemble perfectly. A delicate bindi rounded off her look.

Kasavu is a traditional weaving technique originating from Kerala. It is characterised by the intricate use of fine threads of gold or silver to create elaborate border lines and designs on silk and cotton fabrics.

Meanwhile, her husband, Suraj Nambiar, looked equally elegant in a beige kurta paired with a traditional mundu, perfectly complementing Mouni’s attire.

This is not the first time the actress has charmed us with her saree appearances. Recently, she donned a white zardosi saree sourced from the collections of the clothing brand Threads and Blocks. The saree, set on an off-white base, boasted intricate hand-embroidered detailing featuring exquisite gota patti, resham, pearls and zardosi motifs. The end of the pallu was adorned with two prominent motifs on each side, while the rest of the pallu and skirt were adorned with an array of smaller motifs. She paired the saree with a white halter-neck blouse.

To accessorise her look, she chose a delicate choker set from the brand Golecha Jewels. Meanwhile, her subtle makeup and flowing open hair added the finishing touches to her ensemble.
