Mohan Yadav: Meteoric Rise of BJP Leader From ABVP to Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister – News18

The Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday officially designated Ujjain South MLA Mohan Yadav as the new Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh. BJP MLAs from Rewa constituency Rajendra Shukla and former Madhya Pradesh minister Jagdish Deora will be the deputy chief ministers of the state, while former Agricultural Minister Narendra Singh Tomar will take charge as the speaker of the Madhya Pradesh Assembly.

Who is Madhya Pradesh’s New Chief Minister Mohan Yadav?

Dr Mohan Yadav, 58, holds degrees of B.Sc., L.L.B., M.A. (Political Science), M.B.A., P.H.D. His political career began in 1982 when he became Co-Secretary of Madhav Science College Student Union followed by president in 1984.

He also served as the City Minister of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Ujjain in 1984 and Head of Department in 1986. In 1988, he was the state co-secretary and member of the national executive of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, Madhya Pradesh and he also served as the state minister of the state unit of the council from 1989 to 1990.

He was the national minister of the council in 1991-92. Yadav was elected MLA from Ujjain South for the first time in 2013. He won the election for the second time in 2018 and became the Minister of Higher Education.
