US actor Cole Brings Plenty was found dead on Saturday under mysterious circumstances in the country’s Midwestern state of Kansas, following days of his family’s concern over his disappearance.
The 27-year-old’s body was found near an abandoned vehicle in a wooded area in Lawrence, Kansas, according to US media reports. Brings Plenty, known for his role in the Yellowstone spinoff series “1923”, was a suspect in a domestic violence case and had been the subject of a search after a disturbance was reported at an apartment in Lawrence, Kansas, the previous week.
‘We ask for privacy’
US law enforcement had identified him as the suspect and sought his arrest, although specific details were withheld to safeguard the victim’s privacy. Confirming Brings Plenty’s demise, his uncle, Yellowstone actor Moses Brings Plenty, took to Instagram to share a statement from the young actor’s father.
While expressing gratitude for the support received during the ordeal, Cole’s family requested privacy for the family to navigate their grief. “I am deeply saddened to confirm that my son, Cole, has been found and is no longer with us. We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone for the prayers and positive thoughts you sent for Cole,” the statement read.
“We would also like to thank everyone who came to walk beside us as we searched for my son and provided the resources we needed to expand our search areas. I learned this week how many people knew the goodness in Cole’s heart and loved him. During this incredibly difficult time, we ask for privacy as we process our grief and figure out how we move forward. Please know we appreciate you and appreciate your understanding,” it added.
The grim discovery followed a series of missing person alerts posted by Brings Plenty’s family on social media platforms after he had unexpectedly turned off his cellphone and failed to attend a scheduled meeting with his television show agent, behavior described as uncharacteristic. US law enforcement had issued an alert for Brings Plenty’s arrest following the disturbance report, as he was captured on traffic cameras leaving Lawrence promptly after the incident. However, the circumstances surrounding his death remain shrouded in mystery.
