British royal expert Tom Quinn said the Duchess of Sussex fears that her two children might grow to resent her for their lack of relationship with their paternal grandparents and cousins

Meghan Markle is reportedly concerned that her children — Prince Archie, 4, and Princess Lilibet, 2 — could hold her responsible for “depriving them” of the opportunity for a life as working royals in the UK.

Meghan and Prince Harry’s relationship with the royal family has been strained since they stepped down as working members in 2020 and relocated to California, US, with their two children.

In an interview with UK tabloid The Mirror, British royal author and expert Tom Quinn said the Duchess of Sussex fears that her two children might grow to resent her for their lack of relationship with their paternal grandparents and cousins.

“A friend of the couple – one of Meghan’s few aristocratic friends from her time in the UK – told me Meghan does miss some aspects of life in the UK and worries that her children will blame her if they never get to see their cousins and feel as adults that they have been deprived of what might have been a fun and meaningful existence in the UK as working royals,” Quinn told the publication.

Quinn added that Meghan’s aristocrat friends in the UK disclosed that the Duchess “misses some aspects” of life in the UK, but remains “furious at the way she was treated” during her time in the Royal Family.

“It will be a long time before Meghan reappears in the UK. She has already publicly stated that she will not return to the UK, and her friends insist she is still furious at the way she feels she was treated during her time in Britain,” Quinn revealed.

Meghan hasn’t returned to the UK since Queen Elizabeth’s funeral in 2022, whereas her husband, Prince Harry, has made several trips home, including attending King Charles’s Coronation on May 6 this year. He is also expected to return to the UK next month to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games.

Prince Harry Declares US Is His ‘New Country’

Prince Harry has officially listed the United States as his primary residence, a move that appears to highlight his growing estrangement from the royal family. This change was revealed in documents filed with Britain’s Companies House for Harry’s eco-travel venture, Travalyst, UK-based Daily Mail reported.

Although the documents were filed on Wednesday, Harry listed the “date of change” as June 29, 2023, the same date he and Meghan officially vacated their British residence, Frogmore Cottage, at the request of his father, King Charles. It remains unclear if the Duke of Sussex renouncing his British residency will impact any of his titles.
