Shashi Soni is an influential name in the business world, as her company IZMO limited is regarded as the world’s largest automobile solution provider.

Four people from the business world were included in the list of Padma Shri and Padma Vibhushan awardees. Out of them, two are women. One of them is Shashi Soni, who is the founder of IZMO limited, a software company. The Padma award recipients were announced by the home ministry before the Republic Day. Shashi Soni will be honoured with the Padma Shri Award in the Trade and Industry category. Shashi Soni is an influential name in the business world, as her company IZMO limited is regarded as the world’s largest automobile solution provider. The 69-year old ventured into business in 1971, through Deep Transport with an initial capital of Rs 10,000, and it was run till 1975.

According to more reports, she had to see a lot of struggle in the first decade of her career. After the establishment of Oxygen Private Limited in Mysore, her struggles started to transform into success. As the business started to grow, she stepped into the technical field.

In 2005, she founded a company called IZMO limited, which aimed at providing market solutions. Today, this company is a provider of high-tech automotive and e-retailing solutions, in regions like the US, Europe, and Asia, and is also listed in the BSE (Bombay Stock Exchange) and NSE (National Stock Exchange).

Aside from work, Shashi Soni is also a philanthropist working for the betterment of women, and the disabled. She is the member of the Deep Public Service Committee, which aims toward educating women, launching pension schemes, raising funds for the disabled, and helping with employment.

She is a recipient of many prestigious awards like the Mahila Gaurav Award, which she was given in the 1990. Shashi was also a part of the managing committee at the All India Industrial Gas Manufacturing Association, and the Directorate of Technical Development as well.
