Pradeep Kumar, an IT administrator at a private hospital, disclosed that an individual approached him via WhatsApp, proposing an opportunity to earn additional income by engaging in activities such as liking pages, clicking on links, and watching videos.Intrigued by the offered work, Pradeep agreed and was instructed to deposit Rs 90,000 for membership and documentation fees.
Although Pradeep completed the assigned tasks, the perpetrator allegedly duped him of an additional Rs 13 lakh, citing various charges such as tax, GST, and other fees. Subsequently, Pradeep found himself receiving no communication from the other party and eventually realised that he had fallen victim to a scam.
