Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, faced questions after admitting to editing a Mother’s Day photo of her and her children.

The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, was seen on Monday hours after she apologised “for any confusion” after she said she edited the Mother’s Day photograph of her and her children which was shared across social media platforms.

The photo was retracted by some global news media agencies over editing concerns after it was released. Kate Middleton’s statement came towards Monday evening. After she posted her statement she was seen being driven out of Windsor in a car with Prince William. She travelled to the Commonwealth Day service but she did not attend the event.

The photo was of the princess and her three children – George, Charlotte and Louis – credited to Prince William, captioned: “Thank you for your kind wishes and continued support over the last two months”.

“Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused. I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day. C,” Kate Middleton said.

The image caused a storm on social media and sparked concerns among royal family well-wishers because it was the first image to be released since her surgery in January.

Her abdominal surgery along with King Charles III cancer diagnosis has also added to the concerns of the fans of the UK royal family.

The UK royal family faced pressure to answer questions about whether the first picture of the Princess of Wales to be released after her abdominal surgery was digitally altered.

Four of the world’s major news agencies PA, the Associated Press, AFP and Reuters, issued a “kill notice” over the image and asked their clients to remove it from all platforms.

Kate Middleton spent 13 nights at the London Clinic, near Regent’s Park in central London, following the surgery, news agency BBC said in a report.

Prince William met his wife during her stay and King Charles III also visited her before he had his own treatment there. Buckingham Palace shared minimal details about her health despite significant social media speculation but highlighted that it is not cancer-related. The BBC said the team supporting her as she recovers is small and is limited to those closest to her.

The Palace during her treatment said that Catherine wanted her personal medical information to remain private, adding that she wanted to “maintain as much normality for her children as possible”.
