American actress and singer Jennifer Lopez made a ‘flower power’ grand entrance at Schiaparelli’s haute couture spring/summer 2024 show.
Keeping it fresh and stylish, JLo’s ensemble featured a couture coat featuring 7000 eternal rose petals custom-made for her by Daniel Roseberry for Schiaparelli Couture 2024. According to Jennifer, the real rose petals used were kept fresh and alive with the help of sugar water.
Taking to Instagram, the This is Me…Now singer, who is all set to release her ninth studio album in February 2024, shared a series of images of her in the coat. Describing her iconic couture coat, Jennifer said, “A coat made of 7000 real rose petals kept fresh and alive by sugar water, also known as hummingbird nectar. Designed especially for me by Daniel Roseberry for Schiaparelli Couture 2024. Excited for this journey into my Hearts plus flowers era..#ThisIsMeNow Coming Soon.”
The couture ivory coat was enhanced with an embroidered phoebus sun created by label Lesage. The shimmery detailing on the motif was strategically placed on the back of the coat adding an extra edge to the white rose petals.
Styled by Marie Haenn and Rob Zangardi, Jennifer paired the coat with a turtleneck top and black leggings accessorised with an off-white and gold belt. The quirky gold sunglasses, lock and handbag added drama to her overall look.
Jennifer’s new cropped hairstyle accentuated her chic and glamorous look. Her stylist Marie Haenn too shared a couple of Jennifer’s images wearing the coat and addressed her in the post on Instagram as ‘Couture Barbie’.
Apart from Jennifer Lopez, gracing the front row with their presence were Zendaya and Hunter Schafer who sat beside Jennifer at the showcase.
Schiaparelli’s haute couture spring-summer 2024 collection which was titled Schiaparalien, combined old-world techniques such as over-embroidered guipure laces, velvet and lace appliqués, and hand-cut and embroidered chenille fringe with new world shapes, patterns, and references such as a motherboard-and-strasse microchip dress encrusted with pre-2007 technological artefacts.
The haute couture fashion week kicked off on January 22 with showcases by Christian Dior, Rahul Mishra, Vaishali S, and Giambattista Valli. Paris Haute Couture Week will be on January 25th and will also feature an array of showcases by fashion designers and brands including Chanel, Giorgio Armani Prive, Elie Saab, Jean Paul Gaultier, Zuhair Murad, Valentino, Gaurav Gupta and Maison Margiela to name a few.
