JEE Main 2024 Result: The minimum cut-off for the general category candidates in JEE Main 2024 is 93.2 percentile. In 2023, it was 90.7 and in 2022, it was 88.4

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2024 cut-off to be eligible to appear for the IIT entrance exam — JEE Advanced — has registered a five-year-high across all categories. The minimum cut-off for the general category candidates in JEE Main 2024 is 93.2 percentile. In 2023, it was 90.7 and in 2022, it was 88.4. The cut-off for EWS candidates this year is 81.3 percentile, OBC 79.6, SC 60, and ST 46.6.

In 2023, the cut-off for the OBC category was 73.6, for EWS, it was 75.6, SC 51.9, ST 37.2, and PwD 0.0. In 2022, the JEE Advanced cut-off for the OBC category was 67, EWS 63.1, SC 43, ST 26.7, and PwD 0.0.

Usually, NTA notifies the cut-off list based on certain factors including the number of students who took the examination, the difficulty level of the JEE Main question paper, the average performance of the students in the joint entrance test, and seats available in colleges. Based on these factors, the agency decides the minimum scores of all engineering colleges. The top 2.5 lakh candidates of JEE Main are eligible to appear for the IIT entrance exam every year.

This year, 56 candidates have secured 100 percentile. The exam was conducted from April 4 to April 12 across 319 cities throughout India and an additional 22 cities internationally. As many as 1067959 students participated in the exam. Among those who appeared for the exam, 738351 were males, 329600 were females, and 8 transgender candidates.

To stop cheating using mobile networks, Jammers were installed in all the exam centres to prevent unfair practices by the candidates during the examination through mobile or any other electronic device. The latest 5G Jammers were installed at all examination centres for the first time. NTA had also implemented rigorous measures to deter malpractices and ensure the examination’s fairness, such as multistage verification, biometric authentication, EKYC, and frisking of the candidates, the invigilation staff, and any other associated functionaries, the agency said.
