JEE Main 2024: Candidates who have already filled out the application form but want to change the exam city to Abu Dhabi will be able to modify the changes during the application correction period

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has added Abu Dhabi as an exam centre for the Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main) 2024 following a request by the Ambassador of India, Abu Dhabi “to support the student community” there. Dubai and Sharjah are already examination cities for the JEE Main 2024. This comes after IIT Delhi’s announcement to open a new campus in Abu Dhabi, starting next year.

Candidates who have already filled out the JEE Main 2024 application form but want to change the exam city to Abu Dhabi will be able to modify the changes during the application correction period, the schedule of which will be notified by the NTA soon. “Those candidates who have already filled the Application Form can edit their City of Examination during the correction period. The schedule of the correction period will be intimated in due course,” read the official notice.

Apart from this, NTA has said the result mode field will be disabled for Tamil Nadu state board candidates and the associated fields for marks / CGPA will be made invisible. The agency said it has received a few representations from the candidates of Tamil Nadu who have passed their class 10 or class 12 board exam 2021. Due to the COVID outbreak, no exams were conducted for the 2021 batch of Class 10, and hence no marks were given on the mark sheet, and ‘pass’ has been printed in all subjects. Candidates who studied SSLC in the academic year 2020-21 were also declared passed.

“To support the students from Tamilnadu state, it has been decided that during the filling up of the online Application Form of JEE (Main) – 2024, when candidate selects ‘Passing year’ as 2021 with ‘School Board’ as Tamilnadu State Board of School Examination (Secondary), the Result Mode field will be disabled and the associated fields for Marks / CGPA will be invisible for Tamilnadu State Board candidates who have passed their Class 10 in year 2021,” reads the official notice.

Candidates who have already filled out the JEE Main 2024 application form, with passing year as 2021, school board as Tamil Nadu State Board of School Examination (Sec.) and paid the fee, the same rule will be applied to them as well, NTA has said.
