Vivo’s sub-brand iQoo has expanded its product portfolio with new Z-series smartphones in China. The iQoo Z8 lineup includes two smartphones — iQoo Z8 and iQoo Z8x. This smartphone lineup succeeded last year’s iQoo Z7 series. Both smartphones sport LCD screens that support Full HD+ resolution. The Z8 variant features a MediaTekchipset while a Qualcomm mobile platform powers the less expensive Z8x model.According to a Weibo post shared by the company, the phones are now available to pre-order in China. The smartphone lineup will go on sale on September 7. Apart from this, the company also launched the iQoo Z7 Pro smartphone in India today (August 31).
iQoo Z8 series: Pricing and availability
The iQoo Z8 will be available in three colour options — Porcelain White, Blue and Black colours. This variant is priced at 1599 yuan (nearly Rs 18,000), 1799 yuan (nearly Rs 20,000) and 1999 yuan (nearly Rs 24,000) for the 8GB + 256GB, 12GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB models, respectively.
Meanwhile, the less-expensive iQoo Z8 is also available in similar colour variants and also has three different RAM and storage variants. These models carry a price tag of 1299 yuan (nearly Rs 14,700), 1399 yuan (nearly Rs 16,000) and 1499 yuan (nearly Rs 17,000) for the 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 256GB versions, respectively.

Both smartphones sport a 6.64-inch display that supports a 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate. The vanilla iQoo Z8 smartphone is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 8200 SoC. To compare, last year’s iQoo Z7 features a Snapdragon 782G chipset.

For optics, both phones house a dual rear camera setup. The iQoo Z8 features a 64MP rear camera with OIS and a 2MP depth sensor. Meanwhile, the iQoo Z8x has a 50MP main sensor and a 2MP portrait camera. Both smartphones also have a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
The iQoo Z8 packs a 5000mAh battery that supports 120W fast charging, while the iQoo Z8x has a 6000mAh battery unit that offers 44W fast charging.
