IIT JAM 2024: Candidates appearing for the exam can download the admit cards for the IIT JAM 2024 from jam.iitm.ac.in. The exam will be conducted over a stringent 180-minute timeframe

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras is all set to conduct the Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM 2024) exam today, February 11, 2024. Aspiring candidates appearing for the exam are advised to download the admit cards for the IIT JAM 2024 exam from the official website of the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, at jam.iitm.ac.in. In addition to that, the results for the same will be announced on March 22. IIT JAM 2024 will take place in over 100 exam centres throughout India by the IIT.

Applicants should cross-check all of the information mentioned on the admit card and preserve a printed copy of the admit card for the examination day. All candidates should bring their admit card and a valid photo identification to the examination hall; if they fail to do so, they will be denied entry.

“A printout of the downloaded admit card must be brought to the test centre along with the original and valid photo ID. The candidate has to provide the details of this ID proof while filling out the online application. No candidate will be permitted to appear in the JAM 2024 examination without a valid admit card and a valid and original photo ID. The admit card should be presented for verification.” reads the official notification.

Talking about the exam pattern, the computer-based Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM 2024) will be conducted in two sessions. The first session will start at 9:30 am and end at 12:30 pm for subjects including Chemistry (CY), Geology (GG), Mathematics (MA), whereas the second session will be held from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm for Biotechnology (BT), Economics (EN), Mathematical Statistics (MS), and Physics (PH) subjects.

The exam will be conducted over a stringent 180-minute timeframe. The paper will consist of three sections: Section A will have 30 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), Section B will have 10 Multiple Select Questions (MSQ), and Section C will have 20 Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions.

Students willing to pursue an MSc, MTech, or PhD at prestigious Indian universities, including IITs, NITs, and ISCs, are required to pass the IIT JAM exam. To be eligible for the above-mentioned test, candidates should have completed their UG degree programme or be in the last year of the undergraduate programme. It is important to note that foreign nationals holding degrees from Indian universities were also accepted.
