This is the third case of suicide by a student of IIT Delhi this year. Earlier in September, a 21-year-old student died by suicide by hanging himself in his hostel room at IIT Delhi. Anil Kumar was a student of the 2019 BTech in Maths and Computing batch. The reason behind the extreme step is pressure.

In July, a 20-year-old BTech student of the institute allegedly died by suicide by hanging in his hostel room. According to the police, Ayush Ashna had just appeared in his final-year exams. The police arrived at the hostel after a call was received at the Kishangarh police station. Police had said they did not find any suicide note but suspect no foul play.
