The Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) has recently announced the final results of the Rajasthan Administrative Services (RAS) Exam 2021, bringing forth a tale of triumph from Barmer. Saraswati Khatri, a resident of the lower abode of Khatris in Barmer district, emerged victorious in the examination, marking not only a personal accomplishment but also a historic milestone as the first RAS officer from her community.
The journey to success for Saraswati Khatri had its share of challenges. On her first attempt in 2018, she faced setbacks but undeterred, she embarked on a determined path to triumph in the 2021 examination. On her second attempt, Saraswati secured an impressive 644th rank, demonstrating resilience and perseverance.
Saraswati’s academic journey saw her complete her preliminary examination in Barmer City and obtain a B.Com degree from MBC Girls College. Subsequently, she pursued an M.Com from PG College, Barmer. Her initial setback in the RAS examination in 2018 did not deter her spirit. Instead, it fueled her determination to succeed.
Saraswati Khatri’s father, Satram Das, shared his own failed attempt in 1984 to become a collector. The weight of that unfulfilled dream lingered until his daughter’s remarkable achievement, erasing regrets and replacing them with pride. The success of Saraswati Khatri has not only brought joy to her family but has also elevated the standing of her community in Barmer.
In her pursuit of success, Saraswati dedicated 12-14 hours daily to her studies. Her disciplined approach, coupled with self-study, proved instrumental in securing the 644th rank in her second attempt. She acknowledged the guidance received from her brother, Hitesh Khatri, who works in the Finance Department of the Airport Authority of India.
Saraswati’s father, a cloth merchant, and her mother, a homemaker, witnessed the fulfilment of an unattained dream through their daughter’s relentless hard work. Saraswati expressed that her consistent efforts were driven by the desire to fulfil her father’s aspirations. Her dedication and focus culminated in success, proving that tenacity and commitment can overcome past setbacks.
