Google has unveiled a new update to its Nearby Share for Windows, aligning it with the Android Quick Share rollout. The latest changes include a visual transformation, replacing the old double helix logo with a fresh two-arrow design arranged in a circle.
Apart from this, the name has been updated to “Quick Share from Google” on Windows too.
The updated version of Quick Share for by Google on Windows shows a new banner telling users about the transition from
Nearby Share to Quick Share with a message “Nearby Share is now Quick Share.” .While the folder for downloaded files remains unchanged in nomenclature, users can manually adjust it according to their preferences.
The changes are now rolling out with the Quick Share version 1.0.1444.0 via Google’s official website. That said, the website itself shows the older logo and design.
This development comes in the wake of Samsung’s announcement that its Quick Share app and Google’s Nearby Share for Windows will not amalgamate functionalities until Q3 of 2024.
