Google announced three new updates to improve search suggestions in its Chrome web browser, including more relevant recommendations based on user search history and images for broader product categories.

Recommendations based on what you’ve searched before

A big change is Chrome desktop users who sign into their Google account will now see tailored recommendations in the search box when opening a new tab.The suggestions will be based on searches you’ve done recently and what other people are searching for a lot.

More visual results when you’re not sure what you’re looking for

Also, Chrome will now show more image results for search suggestions on phones. This helps you find stuff even if you don’t know the exact name. Instead of only showing pictures of a specific product you search for, like “Samsonite 25-inch suitcase,” Chrome might show suitcase pictures if you search for something broader like “checked luggage.”

Suggestions now in Incognito mode

Finally, Chrome will now also show search recommendations while using Incognito mode, which before would block recommendations to protect privacy. Then, the suggestions will still show up on your phone even if you have a slow internet connection.
