Are you dreaming of becoming a teacher and looking for a good institute and a proper teaching course? Today, let’s take a look. According to reports, the Dr. Harisingh Gour Central University of Madhya Pradesh is one of the best places. Under the National Education Policy 2020, a four-year Integrated Teacher Education Program (ITEP) course has been started. Admission to this course will be based on the National Common Entrance Test (NCET). The admission process to ITEP has begun and is open until April 30.

Meanwhile, in a recent media interaction, Dr. Harisingh Gour Central University Prof. Neelima Gupta told Local 18 that the Integrated Teacher Education Program (ITEP) is a four-year dual degree program. It has courses like BA-B.Ed., B.Sc.-B.Ed., and B.Com.-B.Ed. Till now, it used to be one or two years, but now it has become a full course of four years. Last year, permission for secondary was given; this time, permission for middle has also been given.

For the ITEP course, one must have at least a 12th pass certificate. Through this course, students can obtain both a graduation degree and a teacher education degree in just four years. This will save one year for students who want to become teachers after doing B.Ed. Earlier, after 12th grade, five years were spent on graduation and B.Ed. However, this latest course is a total of eight semesters.

Meanwhile, the ITEP program has been started as a pilot project in 41 universities across the country. As per sources, there are preparations to make a four-year B.Ed. program or ITEP degree mandatory by the year 2030. This change is being made based on the suggestions given in the National Education Policy 2020.

Head of the Education Department, Prof. Anil Kumar Jain, shared that the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) has approved the ITEP program.

A total of 150 seats are available in the academic session 2024–25, including 50 seats in BA-B.Ed., B.Sc.-B.Ed., and B.Com.-B.Ed. The educational qualification prescribed for admission in this case is a 12th pass candidate.

On the other hand, admission cell coordinator Prof. Diwakar Shukla said that the online application process for the NCET-2024 examination has started through NTA. The last date for applications is April 30. Interested candidates can visit the university website and apply by getting information from the NTA website, ncet.samarth.ac.in.
