According to astrologer Acharya, this year’s Karthik month’s trayodashi falls on November 10 at 11:30 in the morning. It is considered highly auspicious to worship Lord Dhanvantari during the Abhijeet kaal. The Abhijeet muhurat for the puja will commence at 12:30 pm.
On Dhanteras, worshipping Lord Dhanvantari is believed to protect individuals from diseases and promote good health, particularly for those in the medical field. Astrologer Acharya recommends that after completing the worship of Lord Dhanvantari on Dhanteras, one should consume giloy juice or kadha. It is believed that consuming this juice on this auspicious day imparts the body with the ability to combat diseases.
With Lord Dhanvantari’s blessings, one’s health is expected to improve.
Dhanteras serves as the inauguration of the Diwali festival, which spans the next five to six days, concluding with the celebration of Bhai Dooj. It is believed that purchasing gold and silver items on this day brings happiness and good fortune to one’s home.
On Dhanteras, Lakshmi puja is performed after sunset, accompanied by the recitation of the Dhanteras katha. Devotees illuminate oil lamps in their homes to welcome Goddess Lakshmi and intricate rangoli designs are crafted using rice flour and vermillion at the entryways of houses.
