Private schools in Delhi have released their admission criteria.
Those seeking admission under the first child category will need to submit an affidavit.
The Directorate of Education, Delhi, commenced the registration process for nursery admissions in private unaided recognised schools on November 23. The authority released the admission schedule for open seats (excluding EWS, DG, and CWSN category seats) in October only. The last date to apply is December 15. It is advisable for parents seeking enrollment for their children in nursery to access the official website edudel.nic.in and submit applications before the due date. A non-refundable fee of Rs 25 is required to be paid, while applying for admission.
The private schools in Delhi released their admission criteria which include the distance between home and school, siblings, and parents’ qualifications among other prongs for admission to nursery. Parents can access their criteria on their official websites.
It needs to be noted that parents are required to submit a few documents for the entire process to be completed if they want to apply under special categories – sibling quota, alumni, distance from home to school, first child, and EWS category. Here are the documents that need to be submitted for admission under the given categories:
Under Alumni category
If any of the parents of the applicant i.e. the child has passed out from the same school, they can avail of the benefit and submit their mark sheets of 10th and 12th. You can also submit other documents as proof.
First Child Category
Those seeking admission under the first child category will need to submit an affidavit. The affidavit will be considered proof and will help parents get their children enrolled in the school.
For Distance Category
For the admissions in nursery standard, the distance from home to school is given a lot of consideration. You will need to attach documents like electricity or water bills, voter ID cards, or bank statements as proof to seek admission under the category.
Admission Under Sibling Quota
Parents looking to get their child enrolled into schools where they can be accompanied by their siblings can use this quota. They will be required to submit the ID card and fee slip of the child studying in the school.
It is worth mentioning that the first list of selected applicants will be released on the school’s website on January 12, 2024. As per the notification, the resolution of queries of parents will be addressed on January 13 to 22. In addition to that, the second list of selected applicants is expected to be released on January 29 and the subsequent resolution will be done between January 31 and February 6. The admission lists will be released by the schools from February 21 onwards and the whole process will conclude on March 8.
