CUET PG 2024: According to an official notification from the NTA, candidates who have already submitted their application forms now have the opportunity to edit their preferred examination center city during the designated correction window

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has made strategic additions to the Common University Entrance Test (CUET-PG) 2024 by incorporating two new test cities, namely Gurugram in Haryana and Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir. This move comes in response to numerous requests from candidates and stakeholders seeking enhanced accessibility. According to an official notification from the NTA, candidates who have already submitted their application forms now have the opportunity to edit their preferred examination center city during the designated correction window.

The NTA assures candidates that efforts will be made to allocate the examination city as opted by them, with the final decision resting on the correspondence or permanent address provided by the candidate in their application form.

It is noteworthy that the NTA had earlier reduced the number of exam city centers for CUET PG 2024 from 337 in 2023 to 300 within India, with a total of 324 centers, including those outside the country. This alteration seeks to optimise the examination process while ensuring a streamlined and efficient experience for candidates.

In addition to the expansion of test centers, there have also been updates to the CUET PG website. The new official website is now accessible at pgcuet.samarth.ac.in.

Candidates should be aware of the modified registration fees for CUET PG 2024, which have seen an increase across all categories. General category candidates are required to pay Rs 1,200, while those falling under OBC-NCL/Gen-EWS will contribute Rs 1,000. Notably, there is now a revised fee of Rs 600 for each additional test paper, as opposed to the previous Rs 500. For applicants outside India opting for up to two tests, the fee is Rs 6,000, with an additional Rs 2,000 for extra papers.

The National Testing Agency administers the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for admission to undergraduate courses across central, state, private, or deemed universities.

Before 2022, individual universities employed unique entrance exams or admission criteria for undergraduate courses. The introduction of CUET aimed to establish fairness in the admission process by standardising evaluation criteria across diverse educational institutions.
