The festival of colours, Holi, is around the corner. Followed by Holi, the preparations for Chaitra Navratri will begin in full swing. It is considered to be one of the auspicious celebrations for Hindus. According to the Hindu calendar, Chaitra Navratri will start from April 9, wherein the 9 forms of Goddess Durga will be worshipped. This time, the special thing is that Navratri will start in Kharmas. Hindu New Year will also begin in Kharmas itself. As per astrology, Kharmas are not considered good in Sanātana Dharma. During this period, auspicious works are also prohibited. During this time, devotees of Goddess Durga  will have to take some measures to get the blessings. At the beginning of Navratri, there is Abujha Muhurta, which is considered auspicious. In this auspicious time, whoever worships Goddess Durga and asks for their wishes, they will be fulfilled.

Pandit Nandkishore Mudgal, famous astrologer of Mudgal Astrology Center — located at Pagal Baba Ashram in Deoghar — in an interaction with  Local 18 said that Kharmas have started from March 14. It is going to last till April 13. Kharmas will not have any special effect on Chaitra Navratri. So today let’s take a look at  the impact of the commencement of Chaitra Navratri in Kharmas and what precautions the fasting people have to take to get the blessings of the goddess.

1.Offer Chunari: Chunari (a type of cloth) is very dear to Goddess Durga, hence during Navratri, one should definitely offer Chunari to Goddess Durga, which is considered very auspicious.

2. Direction of Akhand Jyoti: The Akhand Jyoti, which is lit during Navratri, should be lit in the fire corner of the house. That is, light a ghee lamp in the south-east corner of the house. In the temple also, one should choose the south-east direction for Akhand Jyoti.

3. Kaner flower: This flower must be offered along with hibiscus to Goddess Durga. Doing this increases happiness and prosperity in the house. Negative energy goes away. The financial situation improves and there is an atmosphere of happiness in the house.
