British Teacher Who ‘Giggled’ as She Raped Young Girl With Boyfriend Banned from Teaching for Life – News18

A former British teacher jailed for raping a child with her boyfriend while serving as the deputy head at a primary school has been permanently barred from the profession.

According to a report in the Daily Mail, Julie Morris was the ‘safeguarding lead’ at St George’s Central Primary School in Tyldesley when she engaged in acts of ‘grave sexual depravity’ with her mechanic boyfriend.

Julie, now 46, met David, 52, on a dating website in 2016 and their relationship quickly became “intensely sexual”, a court hearing the case was told. Police further informed the court that between 2018 and 2021, Julie and David abused a girl aged under 13 on numerous occasions. The report said David would often record the abuse on his phone during which Julie was caught giggling.

HOW THE ABUSE WAS EXPOSED

It was September 2021 when police followed the phone messages that David had shared with another person who was arrested and cops raided his home. A day later, police received a tip-off about the Morris’ crimes and that the couple was planning to flee and decided to swoop down on them.

Julie, who admitted 18 sexual offences, including two counts of rape, was jailed for 13 years and four months, with an extended four years on licence. David, who admitted 34 offences, including seven counts of rape, was jailed for 16 years with an extended four years on licence.

After the conviction, Julie’s case was referred to the Teaching Regulation Agency (TRA) which concluded that her actions were ‘fundamentally incompatible with her being a teacher,’ leading to her permanent ban from the profession.

The panel’s report said: “The fact Ms Morris was also the safeguarding lead at her school makes her offence all the more shocking in that, while the designated point of contact for welfare and safety concerns at the school, she herself was engaged in abusing a child, albeit not one at the school.”
