Bihar Mahila Vikas Nigam Counsellors Recruitment: Why 212 Candidates Didn’t Get Appointment Letters – News18

An advertisement was issued by Mahila Vikas Nigam on May 16, 2022, for the appointment of 213 counsellors for the women’s special cell in police stations across Bihar. For this, a written examination was conducted on November 27, 2022, and on January 16, 2023, a group discussion was also held. In the process, 600 candidates were successful in this examination and more were selected for the interview round.

After this, the examination final result was finally published on May 19, 2023, in which 212 candidates were selected. The original certificates of the successful candidates were also verified on May 16, 2023, but when the time came to give the appointment letters, the vacancy itself was cancelled.

As per reports, for the last 6 months, candidates have been making rounds from the office of the MD of the corporation to the office of the minister. Last Friday, many candidates namely Sushma, Gunjan, Neha, Nidhi, Anju, etc. visited the corporation office. In a media interaction, one of the candidates Nisha said that on Friday, a memorandum was also submitted to departmental minister Shravan Kumar and Chief Secretary Aamir Subhani and requested reinstatement.

Meanwhile, Vandana Preyasi, MD of Mahila Vikas Nigam, said that appointment letters were not given to female candidates. A high-level decision was taken on this, after which the process had to be stopped. Now there will be further processes for appointments in the entire state of Bihar.

As per reports, there are many such candidates whose age limit for government jobs has now expired. As per reports, the marriages of many girls broke off due to a lack of jobs.

In 2014, under the pilot project, a women’s special cell was formed in 23 police stations in the Patna district. At present, the posts of women counsellors are vacant in almost half of these police stations.
