The Labour Resources Department and District Planning Office recently organised a one-day employment fair in Buxar, Bihar. As per reports, candidates aged 18 to 35 were permitted at the fair. The employment camp ran from 10 am to 4 pm in the District Planning Office. Eligible candidates were selected by Zomato and several other prominent companies. As per reports, this initiative was taken to promote skill development and improve employment opportunities among the youth. Almost 19 candidates got selected by Zomato as delivery partners, and the selection was made based on their biodata. Later, the candidates also appeared for an interview round, and 19 candidates received their offer letters on spot. Y P Rohit Bharti from the District Planning Office stated that this job fair was organised under the Planner Aapke Dwar Programme and that the process of the camp was free of charge. There were a total of 59 vacancies in the camp, and almost 50 candidates applied for the positions. Among which, 19 candidates were selected for the job role.
The authorities also organised a counselling session for various schemes related to employment, including self-employment, that are run by government departments. The selected candidates will be allotted 100 km from their residence for delivery.
Anish Kumar Tiwari, District Planning Officer, stated that various companies are organising and taking part in such fairs to promote employment among the youth. The selected candidates will also be given opportunities to work in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
The offer letters have been received by the candidates, which makes them aware of the companies’ policies. They will be provided with a minimum salary of Rs 15,000 per month.
Earlier, a similar employment fair was conducted in Begusarai and Khagaria. Here, Durvasa Ayurveda Limited provided job opportunities as medical representatives and area sales managers to youth candidates. This is helping to promote employment and self-dependency among the youth. This will not only help to eliminate unemployment but, to some extent, poverty and other major social issues.
