CBSE board exams 2024: The board has asked students and parents not to fall prey to fake information such false sample papers or question paper leaks

With the Central Board of Examination (CBSE) classes 10 and 12 board exams 2024 set to commence on Thursday, February 15, the board has warned students, teachers, and other stakeholders against rumors and fake information related to the exams. The board exams will go on till April 2. CBSE said that it will take action against any miscreant spreading any false information related to the board exams or paper leaks.

“It has been observed in the past that during exam time certain unscrupulous elements make effect to spread rumors on YouTube Facebook, X, Telegram and other social media platforms about paper leak to claim to have access to question papers of exams,” the board said through a press release.

CBSE further stated that miscreants often circulate fake sample papers claiming that question papers will be set on the same or share photos and videos of question papers which they claim they have access to and would be made available on payment of money.

The board has asked students and parents not to fall prey to such fake information. “These persons, group and agencies intend to fleece the gullible students and parents as they demand money in return,” it added.

It also added that action would be taken against such miscreants or agencies or groups. If any student is found to be involved in spreading misinformation, action would be taken against him/her as well under unfair means rules and various IPC sections. “The board is vigilant and active in identifying and taking action against those spreading fake news and rumors,” the official statement read.

CBSE had earlier warned against fake handles on X (formerly Twitter) which are using the board’s name and logo. It shared a list of fake social media accounts on its real X account. All students have been advised to stay away from CBSE fake accounts. Apart from cbse.gov.in, CBSE board notification can also be checked on the official X account @cbseindia29. “CBSE will not be responsible hereinafter for any information given by any other source using the name and logo of CBSE in any of the style on social media platforms and accessed by the public,” it stated.
