Trump’s national press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, called the decision “appalling and insulting.” On March 29, Biden issued a proclamation recognising March 31 as “Transgender Day of Visibility.” The Transgender Day of Visibility has been on March 31 since 2009, and Biden has commemorated the day every year since he has been in office in 2021.
