Anupamaa Star Sudhanshu Pandey Opens Up On Getting Less Screen Time As Vanraj Shah – News18

One of the most popular TV shows today, Star Plus’ Anupamaa, enjoys a huge fan following in India. Truly a fan favourite, the show is known for its twists and turns and, of course, the lead character, Anupamaa played by Rupali Ganguly. While the entire show revolves around the life of Anupamaa and the challenges that she faces, the other characters of the show have also been in the news for their roles and performances. One such popular character is Vanraj Shah – played by Sudhanshu Pandey. Having played a mix of good and bad, Sudhanshu Pandey’s performance as Vanraj Shah has been both loved and hated by the audience.

In a recent interview, the actor opened up about his character and shared his views on the show’s creators prioritising Anuj and Anu over other characters. Pandey spoke about how he feels about receiving less screen time.

Sudhanshu Pandey on less focus in Anupamaa

While it is not very unusual to see makers focusing solely on the lead character, and often overlooking others to develop the storyline, Pandey feels that the makers of Anupamaa have to make the audience see the story through every character’s point of view.

“I am very patient and secure as an actor. I know the makers can’t keep focusing on just one character or track, as it’s a daily soap, and keeping the focus on just one character will become boring after a point of time. The story is invariably about Anupama, but if there are no male protagonists or other characters, then everything will fall flat,” he told Bollywood Life.

Further clarifying whether he feels insecure about having less screen time on the show, the actor said, “I am way past feeling insecure. I have done a good number of feature films, web shows, and also a Hollywood film. I really don’t go into that space where I would feel insecure.”

It is pertinent to note that Sudhanshu Pandey has been playing a very crucial role in the Star Plus show. While he has been a part of the show for over three years now, a few actors have also bid adieu to their characters, like Paras Kalnawat, Anagha Bhosle, Rushad Rana, Alma Hussain, Aneri Vajani, Muskan Bamne, Sanjay Dhamecha, and Jaswir Kaur.

Presently, the show has taken a leap, showing Anuj and Anupam starting a fresh life in America post-separation. A few new faces can also be seen on the show.
