Adobe made its Firefly generative AI model commercially available in September and now it is bringing the capabilities to mobile. The company has released an updated avatar of Adobe Express app for Android and iOS that brings generative AI capabilities to mobiles. This means that the features that were previously available on the large screen will now be accessible on mobile phones.
The new Adobe Express app is available to try for free today in beta and people can use it to create social media posts, posters, and banners among others on their phones. With Firefly Generative Fill, Text to Image and Text Effects, plus quick and simple video editing features will be available on smartphones.
Once the beta testing is complete, the premium features will then be available via a subscription, granting access to all Adobe Express tools across both desktop and mobile.
Cloud-based processing for Adobe Firefly GenAI features
The processing for generative AI features will be done on the cloud rather than on the device. It is to be noted that not all smartphones are compatible with the new beta.
“During the beta, premium features are available at no cost. Android users can download the new Adobe Express app in beta from the Google Play store. Due to Apple’s restrictions on the number of beta users, iOS users can sign up here and Adobe will guide selected participants through the process,” Adobe said.
